BITO Offers Spartacus Laser Cutting Machine
Monday, Dec. 21, 2009
By adding laser-cutting capabilities to your embroidery operation, you can dramatically increase production
as well as increase your shop's capabilities. The Spartacus is an affordable laser cutter that makes
it easy to transfer the embroidery hoop from the machine to the laser to quickly cut any number of fabric
appliqué layers. The hoop is then returned to the embroidery machine for finishing. With a laser cutter you
can do distressed appliqué, reverse appliqué, and even offer multilayer appliqué, techniques not practical
without a laser cutter.
In addition to creating appliqué, the Spartacus also can be used for cutting and marking a wide range of
other substrates including wood, paper, textiles, anodized aluminum, non-toxic polymers, Plexiglas®, and
leather. Expand your shop's offerings by engraving promotional products and awards.
The Spartacus is easy to transport and comes equipped with a CO2 laser source of 50, 100, 200, or 400
watts. It uses a galvanometic laser beam movement system and has an adjustable-height cutting plane of
300mm x 300mm or 400 mm x 400mm, 12 inches and 16 inches respectively. The external fume evacuation device
can be connected to any filtering system or simply exhausted out as in the case of a home washer/dryer unit.
It is PC controlled via an interface card.
Focuscut III software, which comes with the Spartacus, allows the user to change a variety of parameters
including laser power and speed to obtain optimum performance. The laser can be adjusted for products of
varying thicknesses by adjusting the cutting bed height.

BITO Offers Proel Laser Bridge Machine
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
The Proel Laser Bridge machine can cut, engrave, etch or mark your hooped embroidery garment allowing the
user to create appliqués, reverse appliqués, and multilayer appliqués that can be further personalized
with laser etching on the fabric's surface. Not only does it dramatically increase a shop's production
speed, it enables a shop to offer more creative, unique looks than ever possible before.
The machine uses a high-speed galvanometic laser that moves along a beam positioned above the embroidery
heads. This beam can be used over embroidery machines ranging from 13 feet (4 meters) up to 66 feet
(20 meters), and it can be used with any model of embroidery machine.
The laser bridge machine has a variable cutting area of 200mmX200mm (8 inches) up to 600mmX600mm
(24 inches) for each embroidery head. It is PC controlled via two interface cards. The accompanying
software allows the user to control laser power, speed, repetitions, and designs. Multiple layers of
fabric can be kiss cut simultaneously to create intricate and detailed designs only possible with a laser.
The high-performance laser CO2 laser is air or water cooled and an external fume suction device can be connected
to any filtering system or simply exhausted out of the building.
BITO specializes in laser-cutting equipment and digitizing software for the decorated apparel

BITO Offers Laser Bridge Video
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
See a laser bridge machine in action by watching an educational video available from BITO. The video, which
is just under 3 minutes, is located at http://www.bitousa.com/videos/LaserBridge6.wmv and shows a lettering
appliqué job being produced from start to finish. It begins with the embroidery machine sewing an outline
stitch. Then the first layer of fabric is placed over this outline. The embroidery machine sews the design.
The laser, which has a protective hood around it for maximum safety, then cuts the top layer of fabric which
has just been sewn.
A second layer in a contrasting color is then laid down and the machine sews this on top of the first layer.
The laser comes back and cuts out the second layer and the finished shirt is displayed. The laser cuts with
such accuracy that the excess fabric is easily weeded out and the edges are sealed.
This video is one of a series that shows the different techniques and applications of a laser bridge machine.
Other videos include a 66-foot (20 meter) laser bridge machine in action and the technique for creating a
three-layer appliqué. Go to http://www.bitousa.com/LaserBridge.htm#Video%20Gallery to see all the available
videos in the gallery.

BITO Unveils New Single-Head Machine E-Laser
Monday, October 28, 2009
Embroidery laser-cutting equipment is now available for a singlehead embroidery machine making this
versatile technology affordable for shops of all sizes. The patented Proel E-Laser system uses the
embroidery machine frame movement to guide the laser. It can be attached to any model singlehead machine.
The laser head is mounted 1 1/2 inches above the fabric and cutting is accurate to within 1/100th of an inch.
The power can easily be adjusted to match a range of fabric thicknesses and design needs by rotating the laser
power knob. Guided by special laser-cutting software designed by Proel called FocusCut III, the laser cuts
only within the sewing area of an embroidery hoop.
The footprint of the E-Laser is only 12 inches by 15 inches so it does not take up a lot of space, and it is
expandable to support up to four embroidery heads. One configuration can be hooked up to one to two heads. A
second configuration can serve three or four embroidery heads. Future plans include models that can be used
with up to eight heads.
With the E-Laser, appliqué fabric is simply laid over the hooped garment where it is cut without any need for
sticky adhesive sprays. Once it's cut, the embroidery machine automatically sews the appliqué according to
whatever stitch is selected. In addition to traditional appliqué, it can be used for distressed appliqué,
reverse appliqué, and multiple layers at a much greater speed than possible using traditional methods.
It also can be used for applying appliqué to finished caps. According to BITO, it is the first and only machine
with this capability.
